3D Printer Remaining Filament Calculator
Results:
Length: --

All results are approximate and are not accurate.
Tests show deviations of ±5% from actual values.
Results below 10 meters are particularly unreliable.
Guide

To use the remaining 3D printing filament calculator, you will need several values that describe the volume of the remaining filament, as well as the diameter of the filament itself.
- Outer Diameter:
- Measure the outer diameter of the filament remaining on the spool, from one side to the other, passing through the center. This is the overall diameter of the filament coil.
- Inner Diameter:
- Measure the diameter of the hole in the center of the spool. Make sure to add a couple of millimeters to account for the thickness of the spool's plastic walls.
- Height:
- Measure the vertical length of the section of the spool that holds the filament. This is the distance from the top to the bottom of the filament storage area.
- Filament Diameter:
- Most filaments specify their diameter (commonly 1.75 mm). You can check this information on the filament manufacturer’s website or your 3D printer’s documentation. In the case of a lack thereof, measuring the diameter is trivial with a pair of calipers.
